Located directly in front of City Hall, Nathan Phillips Square plays host to a wide variety of events right in the center of the city. In the summer months, the square is a hotbed of activity, with many concerts, dance performances, outdoor art exhibitions, a farmers' market one afternoon a week, and weekly childrens' events. Many visitors come just to watch the beautiful fountain and to snack on lunch on a work break, or as a well-needed break while walking around downtown. The Peace Garden is also located here, and serves as a great spot to read a book or have a picnic with friends. In the winter, the reflecting pool becomes a skating rink, with skates available for rental. Be sure to stop by when you're looking for things to do in Toronto.
Ice skating during the winter months runs from mid-November to mid-March each year
